Landed vs Fivetran
Landed and Fivetran both move data from SaaS tools into your warehouse. The difference is pricing, simplicity, and who the product is built for.
Pricing
| Landed | Fivetran | |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Flat $100/connector/month | Usage-based (Monthly Active Rows) |
| Free tier | Coming soon | 500K MAR free tier |
| Cost at 10 connectors | $1,000/mo | $2,000 - $10,000+/mo depending on volume |
| Cost at 50 connectors | $5,000/mo | $15,000 - $60,000+/mo |
| Overage surprises | None -- flat rate | Common -- MAR spikes cause bill spikes |
| Per-connector pricing | Included in flat rate | Varies by connector tier (Free, Standard, Enterprise) |
Fivetran's MAR-based pricing means your bill scales with data volume, not connector count. For high-volume tables (e.g., events, logs, transactions), costs can grow unpredictably. Landed's flat rate means you always know what you'll pay.

Where Fivetran Wins
- Connector catalog depth. Fivetran has 400+ connectors. If you need an obscure ERP or niche SaaS tool, Fivetran likely has it.
- Data residency. Fivetran offers EU and APAC regions today. Landed currently operates in US with EU support planned.
- Destination variety. Fivetran supports 20+ destinations including Databricks and Azure Synapse.
- Enterprise compliance. SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA BAA, and other compliance certifications are mature at Fivetran.
Where Landed Wins
- Predictable pricing. $100/connector/month, no MAR metering, no overage charges. At scale, Landed is 3-10x cheaper.
- Custom connectors. Describe any REST API and Landed's AI generates a production connector -- no manual mapping.
- Static IPs included. Every plan includes static egress IPs for firewall allowlisting. Fivetran charges extra for this.
- Simplicity. No connector tiers, no MAR calculations, no credit packs. One price, all features.
- 5-minute sync on all plans. Fivetran limits free-tier sync frequency to every 6 hours.
Who Should Use Landed
Landed is the right choice if:
- You have 5-50 connectors and want predictable costs
- You sync high-volume tables (events, transactions, logs) where MAR pricing gets expensive
- You need connectors for APIs that Fivetran doesn't cover
- You want static IPs without paying for a Business Critical plan
- You're a startup or mid-market company that doesn't need 400 pre-built connectors
Who Should Use Fivetran
Fivetran is the right choice if:
- You need connectors for 100+ niche SaaS tools
- You require EU or APAC data residency today
- You need SOC 2 Type II / HIPAA BAA compliance certifications
- You sync very low volumes across many connectors (their free tier may be cheaper)
Migration from Fivetran
Switching from Fivetran to Landed takes about 15 minutes per connector:
- Create the connector in Landed with the same credentials
- Select the same streams/tables
- Run an initial full sync
- Disable the connector in Fivetran
- Point your downstream queries at the Landed-managed tables
Landed uses the same schema conventions as Fivetran (snake_case column names, _landed_synced_at metadata column similar to _fivetran_synced), so most queries need minimal changes.
